we, the team of KIWI basecamp, want to welcome you to stay in our warm, comfortable and clean hostel in the heart of Christchurch. We will do our best to offer you the most memorable and relaxing experience in our laid back 2 storey villa.

Our friendly staff, all travellers at heart, seek to offer you the best possible service. We are happy to organise all your travel bookings and activities in and around Christchurch and the rest of New Zealand. When ever time allows us to, we are happy to take guests on day trips to show the beautiful Christchurch surroundings such as the Port Hills as well as on surf and skiing trips.

Our FREE COURTESY VAN guarantees that you won’t spend a cent to get to us from airport, bus or train (operates daily from 8am – 8pm) and additional we offer a SUPER MARKET RUN every day at 8.15 pm so our guests don’t have to walk back to the hostel with their groceries.

Start your day with our FREE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST and our WORLD FAMOUS home made BREAD. We also have FREE COFFEE, TEA and MILO available the whole day. The hostel has a nice little outside area with herb garden and Barbeque. We have free bikes to explore the city and for the rainy days a good size TV room with SKY TV, SKY SPORTS and plenty of DVD’s to keep you entertained. We also have WIFI in all rooms and communal areas.

We proudly announce that we have been yet again voted into the TOP TEN hostels in NEW ZEALAND by HOSTELWORLD . This time we topped our ranking from February and made it the first time into the TOP 3. I am very proud to announce that we have been voted 3rd best hostel in New Zealand as voted by the Hostelworld customers (and there are many). It makes me very happy that we manage to move up further in the rankings as well as staying in the TOP 10.

Trip advisor is an independent homepage from travelers to travelers to plan a trip and to get useful information about countries, cities, accommodation and activity offers.

They have a free rating tool which does not depend on over which channel the booking was made, every guest can log on and write a review.
